BUYER'S GUIDE & FAQ

Everything you need to know before placing your first order with RoundKnit Textiles.

SECTION 1: ORDERING & MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY (MOQ)

Q1. What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) at RoundKnit Textiles?

The standard bulk production MOQ is 2,000 yards per fabric type per color. This applies to all fabric categories: jersey, fleece, pique, and cotton knit.

For buyers who are not yet ready to commit to bulk, RoundKnit offers a 300-meter sample production order — a genuine mill run (not a lab swatch) that allows you to assess actual fabric quality, hand feel, GSM accuracy, and color fidelity before scaling up.

■ Most clients confirm their bulk order after receiving and testing the 300-meter sample. This is the safest and most cost-effective path to a long-term supply relationship.

Q2. How do I place an order with RoundKnit Textiles?

The ordering process is straightforward and fully managed by a dedicated account manager:

  • Submit your fabric requirements: type, GSM, fiber composition, Pantone color, finish, and quantity. Receive a custom, itemized quote within 24–48 business hours.
  • Approve the quote and submit your advance payment to initiate production.
  • Receive production milestone updates throughout the process.
  • Fabric is dispatched and tracking details are provided.

Q3. Can I get a production sample before committing to a bulk order?

Yes — and RoundKnit strongly recommends it for all new buyers. The 300-meter sample production order is a real mill run on the same machines with the same yarn as your eventual bulk order. You can evaluate:

  • Hand feel and softness against your target standard
  • GSM accuracy versus your specification
  • Color fidelity versus your Pantone or physical swatch reference
  • Stretch recovery and dimensional stability
  • Wash fastness and shrinkage performance

Sample pricing applies. Once specifications are confirmed through the sample, bulk orders can proceed with full confidence and no surprises.

Q4. Does RoundKnit work with startups and small brands, or only large manufacturers?

RoundKnit serves the full spectrum — from first-time clothing brands and small garment workshops to large uniform manufacturers and established cut & pack facilities. The flexible MOQ structure (300 m sample, 2,000 yards bulk) is deliberately designed to be accessible at early production stages.

Typical clients include:

  • Fashion brands launching their first private-label collection
  • Uniform suppliers tendering for corporate or hospitality contracts
  • Garment exporters sourcing fabric for international buyers
  • Cut & pack facilities that need reliable, consistent fabric supply
  • Wholesale fabric importers serving regional markets

SECTION 2: QUALITY, YARN & MANUFACTURING STANDARDS

Q6. What yarn does RoundKnit use, and why does yarn quality matter?

RoundKnit uses premium combed long-staple cotton sourced from the United States and Australia — widely regarded as the highest grade available for knit fabric manufacturing. Here is why yarn selection has a direct impact on the commercial value of your finished garments:

  • Long-staple fibers produce a smoother yarn with less surface breakage — the root cause of pilling and lint in cheaper fabrics.
  • Combing removes short fibers, neps, and vegetable matter before spinning, yielding a cleaner, more uniform yarn with superior dye uptake.
  • Contamination-free processing ensures even shade coverage across the entire production lot — critical for uniform programs and branded apparel.
  • The result: fabric that feels premium from the first wash, holds its shape after repeated laundering, and maintains color depth over the garment’s lifespan.

■ Yarn origin and quality is the single biggest differentiator between premium-grade and commodity knit fabric. Insisting on long-staple combed cotton is a direct investment in your brand reputation.

Q7. How does RoundKnit ensure consistent quality across every production lot?

Quality is enforced at three distinct stages:

  • Stage 1 — Yarn Input: Only premium, contamination-free, combed long-staple yarn is admitted to production. Inferior yarn is rejected before knitting begins.
  • Stage 2 — In-Line Quality Control: Each batch is monitored throughout knitting and finishing for GSM consistency, shade uniformity, surface defects, and dimensional stability.
  • Stage 3 — Pre-Dispatch Inspection: Every roll is checked against the approved sample specifications before packing and shipment.

Independent third-party lab testing is available on completed lots for buyers who require formal certification (at client’s cost).

Q8. Can I arrange independent third-party lab testing on my order?

Yes. Once production is complete, RoundKnit can facilitate independent lab testing on the finished lot. Standard test parameters include:

  • GSM (grams per square meter) — actual vs. specified
  • Tensile strength and tear resistance
  • Color fastness to washing, rubbing, and light
  • Dimensional stability after laundering (shrinkage %)
  • Fiber composition verification
  • Pilling resistance (Martindale method)

Testing is coordinated at the client’s request and expense. Lab reports provide formal, third-party-certified evidence of compliance — especially useful for buyers supplying regulated retail chains, hospitality groups, or government uniform contracts.

■ Inform RoundKnit at order placement if lab testing is required, so dispatch scheduling can account for testing turnaround time.

Q9. How does RoundKnit prevent pilling and lint formation in its fabrics?

Pilling is caused by loose, short fibers migrating to the fabric surface under friction. RoundKnit addresses this at the source through yarn selection:

  • Long-staple fiber length means fewer fiber ends per unit length of yarn — the primary driver of pilling.
  • The combing process physically removes short fibers before spinning, leaving only long, aligned fibers that interlock securely within the knit structure.
  • Contamination-free processing prevents weak points in the yarn caused by foreign matter.

The commercial impact: fabric that resists pilling, maintains a smooth surface appearance, and does not shed lint onto other garments — all of which are key quality signals for retail buyers and end consumers.

SECTION 3: CUSTOMIZATION & SPECIFICATIONS

Q10. What fabric specifications can I customize?

RoundKnit operates exclusively on a made-to-order basis, meaning every parameter is open to specification:

  • GSM (Fabric Weight): Specify exact grams per square meter for your end-use requirement.
  • Fiber Composition: 100% cotton, 100% polyester, poly-cotton, cotton-Lycra, and other custom blends.
  • Color: Pantone TCX/TPX matched dyeing or approved physical swatch matching.
  • Fabric Width: As required by your cutting room setup.
  • Finish: Bio-wash, enzyme wash, anti-pilling treatment, or other finishes.
  • Stretch Level: Adjustable through yarn count selection and Lycra/spandex percentage.
  • Sustainable Options: Organic cotton and recycled fiber compositions available on request.

Share your full specification sheet or simply describe your end product category and target market. RoundKnit’s technical team will engineer the right fabric construction for your needs.

Q11. What GSM range is available for each fabric type?

GSM is fully customizable. Common production ranges are:

Jersey Fabric 140–260 GSM (lightweight t-shirt to heavy base layer)
Fleece Fabric Custom GSM as specified, mid-layer to heavy outerwear
Pique Fabric Custom GSM, standard polo weight to structured heavy pique
Cotton Knit Custom GSM as per specification

If you are unsure of the correct GSM for your garment type, provide the end product category (t-shirt, hoodie, polo, etc.) and target market (retail, sportswear, uniform), and RoundKnit will recommend the appropriate weight range.

Q12. Can I order Pantone-matched colors, and how is color consistency maintained?

Yes. Provide your Pantone TCX or TPX code, a physical fabric swatch, or a color-matched reference sample. RoundKnit will develop a lab dip for your approval before bulk dyeing proceeds.

Color consistency is maintained through:

  • Premium combed yarn (contamination-free) ensures uniform dye uptake across the lot.
  • Lab dip approval before bulk production begins — no surprises at delivery.
  • In-line shade checks throughout the dyeing process.
  • Pre-dispatch shade comparison against the approved lab dip.

This is especially critical for multi-color uniform programs where shade consistency between rolls must be exact, and for re-orders that need to match previous production lots precisely.

Q13. Do you offer sustainable or eco-friendly fabric options?

Sustainable and eco-conscious fabric compositions are available on request. Options can include:

  • Organic cotton blends (GOTS-certified yarn sourcing can be arranged on inquiry)
  • Recycled polyester content (rPET) for circular economy–aligned production
  • Low-impact reactive dyeing processes
  • Reduced-chemical finishing options

Contact RoundKnit with your sustainability specification and required certifications. Feasibility and pricing will be confirmed based on your exact requirements.

SECTION 4: FABRIC TYPES & TECHNICAL GUIDE

Q14. What is the difference between jersey, pique, and fleece fabric?

Jersey fabric is a plain-knit construction with a smooth face and slightly textured reverse. It stretches in all directions (four-way stretch in cotton-Lycra blends), has excellent drape, and is the standard fabric for t-shirts, casual dresses, and base layers. GSM range: 140–260.

Pique fabric features a textured, raised surface pattern (typically a honeycomb or waffle structure). It is more structured than jersey, holds its shape under wear, resists creasing, and is highly breathable. Pique is the industry standard for polo shirts, corporate uniforms, and sportswear.

Fleece fabric is a loop-pile knit with a brushed interior that traps warm air for insulation. It is significantly thicker and warmer than jersey or pique. Used for hoodies, jackets, pullovers, blankets, and cold-weather workwear.

■ If you are unsure which fabric construction suits your end product, share the garment type and end-use environment. RoundKnit’s team will recommend the right fabric family and specifications.

Q15. What fiber compositions are available across fabric types?

100% Cotton Soft, breathable, natural. Preferred for skin-contact garments and casual wear.
100% Polyester Durable, moisture-wicking, colorfast. Common in sportswear and workwear.
Poly-Cotton Blend Balances softness with durability and improved shape retention.
Cotton + Lycra (Spandex) Custom GSM as per specification
Custom Blends Any composition available on specification — discuss requirements with the team.

Q16. What is cotton knit fabric, and where is it used?

Cotton knit fabric is a 100% cotton construction knitted (rather than woven) to produce a fabric with inherent stretch and drape. It combines the natural breathability and softness of cotton with the flexibility and comfort of a knit structure.

Common applications:

  • Bedding, bed sheets, and pillowcase fabric
  • Casual tops, base layers, and everyday t-shirts
  • Home décor and soft furnishings
  • Uniform underlayers for hospitality and healthcare
  • Children’s wear and infant garments (naturally hypoallergenic when combed)

Q17. Can I order performance fabrics with polyester or spandex blends?

Yes. In addition to 100% cotton constructions, RoundKnit produces performance fabrics in polyester, cotton-Lycra, and poly-cotton blends. These are designed for:

  • Activewear and sportswear — moisture-wicking polyester or stretchy cotton-Lycra blends.
  • Uniforms requiring durability — poly-cotton for improved abrasion resistance and color retention.
  • Four-way stretch garments — cotton + 5–8% Lycra for yoga wear, compression base layers, and fitted uniforms.

Specify your target performance parameters — stretch percentage, moisture management, or weight requirements — and RoundKnit will confirm the correct composition.

SECTION 5: SHIPPING, DELIVERY & LOGISTICS

Q18. What is the production lead time, and how is it calculated?

Standard production lead time is 3–4 weeks from order confirmation (from receipt of advance payment and all approved specifications). Factors that affect timeline:

  • Order volume — larger lots may require additional production time
  • Number of colors in the order — each color is a separate dyeing run
  • Customization complexity — specialty finishes may add time
  • Lab testing requirement — if third-party testing is requested, factor in testing turnaround

Transit time is additional: 5–10 days by air freight to most destinations; 3–6 weeks by sea freight depending on destination port. Exact production and delivery timelines are confirmed at the time of order.

Q19. Does RoundKnit ship internationally? What trade terms are available?

Yes — RoundKnit ships worldwide by air and sea freight. Trade terms:

FOB (Free On Board) RoundKnit delivers to the port of export. Buyer arranges onward freight. Standard default term.
CIF (Cost, Insurance, Freight) RoundKnit covers freight and insurance to destination port. Available on request.
Custom Arrangements If you have a preferred freight forwarder, RoundKnit can coordinate directly with them.

Key export markets currently served: USA · UK · Canada · UAE · Germany · Netherlands · Australia · Saudi Arabia · Southeast Asia.

Q20. Will I receive progress updates during production?

Yes. A dedicated account manager is assigned from sample order through final delivery. Update milestones include:

  • Confirmation when yarn is allocated and production is scheduled
  • Update when knitting is completed
  • Lab dip or shade approval stage (for new colors)
  • Notification when finishing and QC are complete
  • Dispatch confirmation with shipment tracking details

Communication is available via WhatsApp and email. RoundKnit’s policy is proactive, transparent updates — so you can plan your cutting and sewing schedule accurately.

SECTION 6: PRICING & VALUE

Q21. How is pricing determined at RoundKnit?

All pricing is custom, based on your exact fabric specification. Primary pricing factors:

  • Fabric type — jersey, fleece, pique, and cotton knit have different base costs.
  • GSM — heavier fabrics require more yarn and therefore cost more per yard.
  • Fiber composition — 100% combed cotton costs more than polyester; Lycra-blended fabrics carry a premium. Color — standard reactive dye colors vs. custom Pantone matching.
  • Finish — bio-wash, enzyme wash, and anti-pilling add to processing cost.
  • Quantity — larger orders benefit from improved per-unit pricing.

As a factory-direct manufacturer with no agents or middlemen, RoundKnit’s pricing reflects genuine production cost — not a trading margin stacked on top of a mill price.

Submit your full specification at roundknit.com/get-quote for a detailed, no-obligation quote within 24–48 business hours.

Q22. Why is sourcing directly from a Pakistan knit fabric factory more cost-effective?

Pakistan is among the world’s top five textile-manufacturing nations, with a fully integrated supply chain from cotton farming through yarn spinning to finished fabric. Buying factory-direct from Pakistan provides:

  • No middleman margin — you pay the production cost, not a trader’s markup.
  • Competitive labor and energy costs — significantly lower than comparable quality from Europe, North America, or East Asia for knit fabric.
  • Proximity to raw materials — Pakistan’s cotton industry provides direct access to quality cotton yarn.
  • Established textile expertise — decades of knitting, dyeing, and finishing experience embedded in the local industry.
  • GSP+ and trade preferences — Pakistan’s preferential trade agreements with the EU provide duty advantages for European buyers.

SECTION 7: POLICIES, RETURNS & CLAIMS

Q23. Are bulk orders returnable or refundable?

Because all RoundKnit fabrics are manufactured exclusively to client specifications, bulk orders are final once produced and dispatched as per approved parameters. This is standard practice in custom textile manufacturing globally — the fabric cannot be resold to another buyer.

Buyer protection mechanisms built into the process:

  • 300-meter sample order: Verify all specifications before committing to bulk.
  • Lab dip approval: Color is signed off before bulk dyeing begins.
  • Independent lab testing: Formal performance certification available on completed lots (client cost).
  • Pre-dispatch QC: Every roll is inspected against approved specifications.

Claims for major defects — where fabric clearly does not conform to approved, documented specifications — are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. Documentation (photos, lab reports) is required.

Q24. Does RoundKnit hold ready-made stock fabric?

No. RoundKnit operates exclusively as a made-to-order manufacturer. Every roll of fabric is produced specifically against your order — your GSM, your color, your fiber blend, your finish. There is no warehouse of pre-made fabric available for immediate dispatch.

This model ensures that every client receives fabric engineered precisely to their requirements, rather than selecting from a limited range of pre-existing options. It is the foundation of RoundKnit’s customization commitment.

Q25. What should I do if the delivered fabric does not match approved specifications?

In the event of a suspected major defect or specification non-compliance, contact RoundKnit immediately upon receipt with:

  • Photographic documentation of the defect or discrepancy
  • Roll reference numbers (from packing list)
  • Independent lab test report (if obtained)
  • Comparison against approved lab dip or sample reference

Contact: contact@roundknit.com or WhatsApp +92 313 3483 484. RoundKnit’s strict in-line QC process is specifically designed to prevent specification deviations. Each lot is inspected against the approved sample before packing and dispatch.

SECTION 8: GEOGRAPHIC & MARKET-SPECIFIC FAQS

Q26. I am based in the USA — can I import knit fabric directly from Pakistan?

Yes. Pakistan is a well-established textile exporter to the United States, with a robust freight infrastructure for both air and sea shipments. Key points for US-based buyers:

  • Customs: Knit fabric is classified under HTS Chapter 60. Standard US import duties apply; consult your customs broker for current rates.
  • Shipping options: Air freight to major US ports (5–10 days); sea freight via Karachi or Port Qasim (3–5 weeks to US East/West Coast).
  • Documentation: RoundKnit provides full export documentation including commercial invoice, packing list, bill of lading/airway bill, and certificate of origin.
  • Payment: International wire transfer (T/T). Letter of Credit available for larger orders.

■ Many US garment brands and uniform suppliers already source knit fabric from Pakistan due to the quality-to-cost advantage over domestic or East Asian alternatives.

Q27. I am a buyer in the UAE or Middle East — how does the ordering process work?

Pakistan and the UAE have strong trade links and well-established freight routes, making RoundKnit a natural supplier for UAE-based importers, garment manufacturers, and uniform companies.

  • Air freight from Pakistan to Dubai typically takes 3–5 days.
  • Sea freight via Karachi to Jebel Ali takes approximately 7–10 days.
  • All standard UAE import documentation is provided.
  • Arabic-language communication can be accommodated.

Q28. I am sourcing from Europe — does Pakistan offer any trade advantages?

Yes. Pakistan currently holds GSP+ (Generalized Scheme of Preferences Plus) status with the European Union, which provides significantly reduced or zero import duties on textile and apparel imports into EU member states for qualifying products.

This makes Pakistan-sourced knit fabric a commercially attractive option for European garment brands and importers, compared to sourcing from countries without preferential trade status.

Verify current GSP+ product eligibility with your customs broker, as tariff codes and rates are subject to periodic review.
